I did that grueling job one day. All young men in the screaming camp. One chose to stand right up in my face, asking over and over ..Does your husband know you kill babies... what's your name...do you know you're going to hell...just talk to me...I know you're sorry ...why are you a murderer.... turning as I turned, walking as I walked. A foot from my face. For hours. Since volunteers are told to stand there and take it all without even making eye contact, I did not scream at the NASTINESS of it all. My conclusion was that they get sexually charged by harassing women who won't talk back. They were truly enjoying themselves, probably masturbating in the car after. I will never subject myself to that filth again. Volunteers should be big, burly men lined up at both entrance. Subjecting female volunteers to such vermin is inexcusable.

I certainly understand, Janet. It can be awful, and traumatizing, for the patients, staff and volunteers. Gratefully, we don't have to stand near the "Crusaders." Our focus is on the women, trying to shield them, talk with them, distract them from the preachers.

Whatever the motivation these people have, they have obviously been indoctrinated (bible-brainwashed) so this is their "mission." I wish there was a way to shut them up or at least shut them out of sight of vulnerable people. So, we keep going back.

As for those big, burly men, we have some, but I've found many of our women volunteers are pretty tough and handle the verbal abuse as good as any man.

Thanks for this Chris and thanks for volunteering there. Love the rainbow umbrella. And I love

your spirit.

Appreciate that, Sara. Anti-choice folks don't seem to remember "the Lord made the rainbow" because the Lord was sorry for being so judgmental. . .right?

I love that the umbrella is rainbow colored, yet another offense to 'christian' thought.

Yes, it's my choice in colors. They don't remember: "the Lord made the rainbow." Ha.
